【Origins】
From the Ji (姬) Surname (Lineage of the Yellow Emperor): The Ju surname originates from the lineage of the Yellow Emperor. His descendant, Qi (also known as Hou Ji), was the founding ancestor of the Zhou Dynasty.
The Legend of Ju Tao: Qi’s son, Bu Zhu, had a son named Tao. It is said that at birth, the palm lines on his hand closely resembled the ancient script for the character "Ju" (鞠). Consequently, he was named Ju Tao. Ju Tao later became a leader of the Zhou people, and his descendants adopted his name as their family name, Ju.
From the State of Yan: Among the descendants of Ju Tao was Ju Wu, who served as a high official (Dafu) in the State of Yan. His progeny also adopted his name as their surname, further expanding the Ju clan.
