【释义】繆，通穆。古时宗庙所列次序，左昭、右穆。以父子辈递，则文父昭、子穆。穆也称繆，引申有恭敬、肃穆之义。

【起源】源于姬姓，出自春秋时期秦国的国君秦穆公。春秋时期，秦国秦缪公（秦穆公）是著名的春秋五霸之一。秦缪公为嬴姓，名任好，在位三十九年（前659―前620年）。秦穆公攻灭十二国，秦国开始强大。秦缪公死后谥号为“缪”。古代“缪”、“穆”二字同音，所以秦缪公又常被写作秦穆公，子孙以谥号为氏。

He reigned for thirty-nine years (659–620 BC), during which he conquered twelve states, laying the foundation for Qin's future greatness.

3. The Posthumous Name: After his death, he was given the posthumous title "Miao." In ancient phonetics, the characters 缪 and 穆 were homophones and were often used interchangeably. Consequently, his descendants adopted his posthumous title as their surname.
