Definition of the Character: "金" (Jin) is a general term for metals. In Oracle Bone Script, there are two primary forms:
The upper part is the ancient character "今" (Jīn) and the lower part is "火" (Fire), representing the flow of molten copper during the smelting process.
The upper part is "金" and the lower part is "土" (Earth), with two dots on the side representing gold buried within the soil or the droplets of molten metal.
Origin: From Shao Hao, the leader of the ancient Dongyi tribes. His given name was Zhi, and he was known as Shao Hao because he followed the laws of Tai Hao. Because he ruled through the virtue of the element "Metal" (Jin De), he was titled "Jintian Shi" (The Clan of the Golden Heaven). He ascended the throne at Qiongsang (modern-day Qufu, Shandong).
