【起源】源于姬姓，出自远古黄帝时代医官俞柎。属于帝王赐姓改姓为氏。远古黄帝时，有个医官叫俞柎，他就是喻氏的祖先，俞柎的后代相传姓俞。 经三千多年到宋建炎年间(公元1127～1130年)，俞氏一族后代有个叫俞樗，聪明好学，举为进士，精通世故，无所不知，宋高宗赵构喜欢他“佯佯知喻”，就将“喻”字赐给他为姓氏，从此以后，俞樗的后裔子孙就称喻氏。

【Origins】

1. From the Ji (姬) Surname (Yellow Emperor's Era): The lineage traces back to Yu Fu, a medical officer during the era of the legendary Yellow Emperor. He is considered the remote ancestor of the Yu clan. For over 3,000 years, his descendants primarily carried the surname 俞 (also pronounced Yu).

2. Imperial Bestowal (Song Dynasty): During the Jianyan period of the Southern Song Dynasty (1127–1130 AD), there was a descendant named Yu Chu. He was exceptionally intelligent, a successful candidate in the imperial examinations (Jinshi), and possessed vast knowledge of worldly affairs.

3. The Name Change: Emperor Gaozong of Song (Zhao Gou) was so impressed by his profound understanding and wisdom—remarking that he "seemed to know and understand everything" (Yang Yang Zhi Yu)—that he bestowed the character "喻" upon him as a new surname. From that point forward, the descendants of Yu Chu adopted 喻 as their family name.
