【Origin】
From the Era of the Yellow Emperor: During the remote antiquity of the Yellow Emperor, there was a musician named Rong Yuan. By the Emperor's command, he collaborated with Ling Lun to cast twelve bronze bells to harmonize the "Five Tones" (pentatonic scale). Rong Yuan is honored as the founding ancestor of the Rong surname.
From the Ancient State of Rong: Established during the Western Zhou Dynasty, the State of Rong was located in present-day Hu County, Shaanxi. Descendants of Rong Bo, a high official (Qingshi) under King Cheng of Zhou, adopted the name of the state as their surname.
