【起源】1、古有商部族，始祖名契，为黄帝裔孙，居于商，其后代有以地名为氏者，称为商氏。2、公元前16世纪 ，商汤灭夏，建立商朝，都亳，至盘庚迁都殷，传至纣，被周武王攻灭，子孙以国为氏。

【Origin】
From the Ancient Shang Tribe: The ancestor of the Shang tribe was Xie (a descendant of the Yellow Emperor), who lived in the region of Shang. His descendants adopted the name of this territory as their surname.
From the Shang Dynasty: In the 16th century BC, Tang of Shang overthrew the Xia Dynasty and established the Shang Dynasty with its capital at Bo. Later, King Pan Geng moved the capital to Yin. After the dynasty was eventually overthrown by King Wu of Zhou during the reign of King Zhou, the descendants of the royal house adopted the name of their state (Shang) as their surname.
