【起源】西周初，周武王弟之周公姬旦受封建立鲁国（都今山东曲阜），因周公留京师辅佐武王、成王，由周公长子伯禽就封，传到第14位国君名弗湟，是为惠公。鲁惠公于公元前768年至公元前723年在位，其子名尾，字施父，施父的5世孙孝叔以祖辈的字为姓氏，即施氏。

夏王朝时期诸侯国施国（今湖北恩施），大约在商代国亡，子孙以国为氏，是最早的施氏。

2. The Descendants of Shi Fu: The lineage reached the 14th monarch, Duke Hui of Lu (reigned 768–723 BC). He had a son named Wei, whose courtesy name was Shi Fu. Five generations later, his descendant Xiao Shu adopted the ancestor's courtesy name as the family name, establishing the Shi clan of Lu.

3. The Ancient State of Shi: During the Xia Dynasty, there was a feudal state named Shi (located in present-day Enshi, Hubei). This state was likely extinguished during the Shang Dynasty. The descendants adopted the state name as their surname, making this the earliest known origin of the Shi surname.
