Hui Sun, son of Ji He, the 8th‑generation descendant of Ji Feng, founder of the State of Wei, served as a senior minister.

He held the fief of Qi (modern Puyang, Henan).

1. His son Wu Zhong adopted his grandfather’s courtesy name Sun as his surname, becoming the ancestor of one major branch of the Sun clan.

From the Mi lineage (State of Chu)  

In the Spring and Autumn period, Ao, great‑grandson of Fenmao, ruler of Chu (surname Mi), had the courtesy name Sun Shu.

He was from Qisi (modern Huaibin) and served as Lingyin, the highest ministerial office in Chu.

He was renowned for his virtue and governance, and is known in history as Sun Shu’ao.
