He was enfeoffed to establish the State of Su, with its capital at Wen (present-day Wen County, Henan). Consequently, the State of Su was also referred to as the State of Wen.

3. Adoption of the Surname: In 650 BC, the State of Wen was annexed by the Di ethnic group. The monarch, known as Wen Zi (Lord of Wen), fled to the State of Wei. His descendants subsequently adopted the name of their fallen country, Wen, as their family name.
