【起源】1、源于姬姓，出自西周初期周穆王的御马师造父之师傅泰豆氏，以先祖名为氏。造父是伯益第九世孙，著名的西周王廷善御者，赵氏鼻祖。其“善御”之技是跟泰豆氏学来的。2、源于芈姓。楚公子食采于南阳豊亭，后人以豊为氏。传至汉朝时，大臣豊如意子孙遂以其名字为氏，称豊氏。战国末期，楚国“豊”即“豆”，后简为豆氏，但读音作lǐ。

Derived from the Ji (姬) surname: This lineage traces back to Tai Dou, the mentor of Zao Fu, who was the Royal Charioteer for King Mu of the Western Zhou Dynasty. The clan adopted the name of their ancestor as their surname. Zao Fu was a 9th-generation descendant of Bo Yi and a famous charioteer of the Western Zhou court (also the founding ancestor of the Zhao clan). He learned his legendary "mastery of charioteering" from Tai Dou.
Derived from the Mi (芈) surname: A prince of the State of Chu was granted the fief of Li (豊) Pavilion in Nanyang. His descendants adopted Li as their surname. During the Han Dynasty, descendants of the official Li Ruyi adopted his name as their surname. In the late Warring States period, the character "豊" in the State of Chu was synonymous with "豆" (Dou). It was later simplified to the surname Dou, though it is traditionally pronounced as "Lǐ" in this specific context.
